Weight Loss Programme
Sometimes weight loss is not just simply a question of cutting back on food and stepping up exercise levels, although obviously these are important. At Purehealth, we have several options available to help you.
One immediate caveat: I cannot guarantee anything as you are unique; all we can do is set you on the right path and identify anything that may be stopping you losing weight such as a hidden thyroid issue, food intolerance, insulin problem etc and address them. You would be surprised, for example, how much weight and fluid a food intolerance makes you hold!
The Purehealth Weight Loss Programme detailed below is designed to assess and deal with several factors involved in weight loss simultaneously and is the most comprehensive and successful approach we have found, especially for those who have difficulty losing weight despite serious attempts.
Or, if you need help with your diet and regular motivation but don't want to do the full programme, book a weight consultation and a series of 'nag sessions' (ie 15 minute regular motivation/Q&A calls) - which is really stage 1.
If you don't feel you need consultation or support simply follow the Purehealth Detox and the Carol Vorderman Detox Diet book, which is a brilliant combination to get you started. NB. Full Programme Details:
Step 1: Detox & Eat Right
First, a full consultation where we will recommend a suitable healthy eating plan, a recipe book or guidelines, detoxification and supplement programme to start immediately.
This will be designed to address the factors in your specific case, but will mainly address blood sugar, insulin resistance, fat metabolism, food intolerance, nutrient levels, change unhelpful dietary habits, discourage cravings, improve bowel, liver, thyroid and kidney function and reduce acidity and sodium levels.
Often, at the start we will recommend a 6 week detox programme including skinbrushing to kickstart the digestive system, circulation, lymphatic drainage, liver and kidneys. To read more about why this is important, see the Detoxification section and this blog post on toxins released from fat cells.
Following this first stage, we will then discuss a suitable longer-term eating plan for you. For example, we might want to lower carbs more if you have belly fat or signs of insulin resistance or avoid goitrogenic foods if your thyroid is messing about. We will also discuss a suitable prescription for you which might involve minerals to help increase fat loss, blocking of carbohydrates, amino acids involved in lipid control, or whatever we decide between us.
The weight loss consultation costs £47. After that, you can have as much or as little support and monitoring as you choose.
Step 2: Hypnotherapy. We recommend you see a hypnotherapist to overturn learned habits and sub-conscious reasons for over-eating if we both think that may be a factor for you. This part of the programme is designed to help you change unwanted habits and behaviours, increase your willpower, improve self-esteem and deal with any emotional issues related to your weight. This is a crucial part of our approach to weight loss.
Step 3: Exercise. We will recommend and discuss an effective exercise programme to suit you.
